I think its not too late to wish everyone Selamat Hari Raya and Maaf Zahir Batin (especially maaf for not updating this blog for so long, I guess I have no excuse for that). But while you're muching away your ketupat, rendang, lemang and sate, please stop a while and think of of what this does to your health and not to mention weight.

Well, all is not lost! to counter such side effects of over indulgance of raya food, why not join the Penang Bridge Marathon that will be held on the 22nd November 2008. If the word marathon tends to scare you, dont worry there are a few categories with different distances for you to choose from.

After much preparation its time to get on with our journey to Beijing. Actually Airasia does not have a direct flight to Beijing. Its flight stops at Tianjin, some 150km from Beijing. On this edition of cekikdarah, we will look into the many types of transportation available in China and how to get around.

In this series, we will be looking at the preparation and planning step that I took towards my trip to Beijing. My friend and I planned to travel to Beijing from Friday 12th June to Sunday 21st June 2009, a total of 9 days. For those who are planning to go to China, maybe these information can be useful for you in your travel planning.

its Incredible how cheap low cost carriers offer their seats nowadays. When I booked my ticket to Beijing (Tianjin), it only cost about RM600 for a return ticket and Beijing is more than 2000 miles away from Malaysia!

Greeting everyone. Been a while since the last post. For the past few weeks my friend and I have been preparing and going for a 1 week trip to Beijing. We had planned this trip for a while and we were happy to finally complete the adventurous journey. Having said that, for the next few posts I will write about the whole journey, the preparations and also tips for those interested on doing a Beijing trip of their own. Worried about halal food? No worries, in the following "Beijing Chronicles" I will explain everything about everything I did there, the problems and solutions we came up with. So please stay tuned.

Sex trade is illegal in Malaysia but that didn’t stop it from reaping whooping RM3 billion profits last year according to Tenaganita a non-governmental organisation.

Tenaganita estimated that the number of prostitutes in the country at least 150,000 with more than 10,000 operating in the Klang Valley alone.

A prostitute monthly earning easily surpassing that of a minister, university professor or high ranking government officers.

Charging an average of RM150 an hour, eight client per day, working seven-day a week, a prostitute ends up making RM36,000 a month said Aegile Fernandez, Tenaganita anti-human trafficking coordinator.

“Serving an average of eight clients a day, she ends up making RM1,200 daily and possibly RM36,000 a month,” she said.

According to Aegile, syndicates that run brothels usually have up to 100 girls under them.
