There are five computers in my house. With the coming semester break, there will be seven.
Seven computers simultaneously online, scrambling for bandwidth is going to be one giant headache, especially for yours truly since I am the de facto Tech Supervisor of the household.
Foreseeing the upcoming complications, I decided to push for a package upgrade.
If you are a Screamyx Streamyx customer like us, application to upgrade your broadband package can be done automatically. I found out the hard way, after spending five minutes waiting on the phone, and another ten getting explanation from the TM Customer Service Representative.
Long story short, I called 100 and fifteen minutes later, I am now equipped with some information that might be useful for those who are considering the same thing.
It starts with https://mips.tm.net.my/ (click on the image for a bigger view of the screenshot)

Prior to 2008, I wasn't much of a fan for online banking. In fact, my internet banking accounts have been deactivated numerous times due to inactivity, and I had to painfully call their helpline to have the accounts re-activated.
Now armed with 'decent' internet connection courtesy of Telekom Malaysia (which is a story for another day), I mainly use these two online payment systems by the top two merchant banks in Malaysia:
Malayan Banking Berhad's (Maybank) maybank2u
and
CIMBClicks from CIMB
Today, we'll explore both services when it comes to receiving payment!

European football has ended a couple of weeks ago with Manchester United, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, Lyon, Celtic, PSV Eindhoven and FC Porto having won the title in their respective league. Of course, not to forget, the newly crowned European Champion, Manchester United who defeated Chelsea in a very dramatic final.
So, once again, we come to the havoc period where big clubs trying to lure some big names or new talents in order to improve their squad. Almost a decade ago, inflation in football has become increasingly ridiculous in my mind. I had this discussion with Ken the other day and we agreed that this phenomenon started after Real Madrid FC smashing the world record fee twice in 2 successive years (2000 and 2001).
Note: I will not be discussing the player's loyalty issue in this entry..... |

For more than a week, I've been straining my eyes with the now defunct CRT monitor. Turns out, it has lost its ability to display the colour red properly, thus completely whacking the colour display of my monitor.
Desperate for a new display but with limited funds to attain one, I've decided to wear my seller's hat and return to eBay.
