Secrets of The Millionaire Mind

I am overjoyed by the fact that my 7-year old PC is up and running again, and I’ve decided not to put off writing this post about the New York Times #1 Bestseller book; Secrets of The Millionaire Mind by the one and only, Mr. T Harv Eker!

A brief history

As I’ve mentioned in my MMI Singapore post, I picked this book up somewhere in early 2008 or late 2007 while waiting for dad at the airport.

Back then, I struggled financially in uni; to get enough money for self-sustenance. And every time I have to ask for (more) money from my parents, I felt like a schmuck.

I ventured into multiple small businesses just to get my cashflow going. But I was highly frustrated by my financial results, and none of my uni-mates could relate to me.

They were busy studying Electronics when I figured out in semester one that I am most probably will never ever use C++ in my life ever again.

Anyway, at the airport, somehow or rather this book popped-up and caught my attention. Being the skeptical, frustrated young man then, I picked the book up and started going through the early pages.

Why I decided to buy the book?

The decision to buy the book has everything to do with how Harv wrote it, and how much I feel like I relate to his early struggles’ stories. The book’s first chapter title is: “Who the Heck Is T. Harv Eker, and Why Should I Read This Book?”

That first chapter’s title really grabbed my attention, because truth be told, I’ve read some financial self-help books, but I don’t feel like I relate that much with them.

Until I read Harv’s book! (especially chapter one).

I was the guy with all this otherworldly potential but yet, my results do not reflect that. Hence the annoyance and frustration  mentioned earlier. I mean, it kinda sucked being the ‘smart but poor guy’ don’t you think?

And that’s why I relate so much with the first chapter of Secrets of The Millionaire Mind.

What’s in the Book? (Secrets of The Millionaire Mind)

In this book, Harv explains and helps the readers to identify their thought-patterns when it comes to money (aka our Money Blueprint). Also, Harv have identified 17 Wealth Files and 43 Wealth Principles that are more supportive for our financial success.

The Wealth Files are seventeen ways rich people think and act differently from poor and middle-class people

One of the more profound ones for me is Wealth File #2:

“Rich people play the money game to win. Poor people play the money game to NOT lose.”

That really blew my mind away. (I was thinking, what’s the difference? Turns out, a helluva lot).

Is This Book For Me?

Only you can answer that.

Let me relate to you yet another story. A dear friend of mine asked me why was I so gung-ho, you know, going all the way to Singapore to attend the MMI?

Because I was tired of being broke, mediocre financially, and just fricking frustrated with my life. And if you’re not sure, here’s a simple method that might help.

1.) Write down how much money you have right now. All of it, in assets, stocks, unit trusts etc.
2.) Write down how much bad debt you have right now. (If you don’t know what bad debt means, then write down all your debts).

After completing Step 1 & 2, and you’re happy where you are right now, you don’t need the book.

But, if you’re not happy with what you wrote down, you might wanna consider spending about US$14.95 in getting this book.
And lastly, I will tell you exactly what I told the friend that asked me the question; first buy the book. If it doesn’t help, then don’t bother going to the upcoming Millionaire Mind Intensive weekend near you. (I offered to buy the book from him if he doesn’t want it after reading it).

If you find the book to be helpful, you might wanna check this link out:

Conclusion

1.) Coming from my experience, the book Secret of The Millionaire Mind, The Millionaire Mind Intensive weekend, and of course The Enlightened Warrior Training Camp helped me, a lot. Financially speaking, my Financial Freedom Factor #1 (something you’ll learn from MMI) doubled from what it was in February 2010 when I attended my first MMI.

2.) Point no. 1 above doesn’t make it right, doesn’t make it wrong, doesn’t make it true, and doesn’t make it false. It’s just my experience (plus the experience of millions of people that have attended Harv’s courses)

To your financial success!
