Other than being multiracial, Malaysians are also known for our own brand of lifestyle.

Especially the night life.

In most countries, shopping malls are closed at 6.00pm everyday, and people go to bed early on weeknights, prepping for work the morning after.

On the other hand, at 1800 hours, most Malaysians, especially those living in Kuala Lumpur, are getting ready for the night.

Kuala Lumpur should go by the name "Batman City" since the "city that never sleeps" is simply waay too cliche. Therefore, let us observe two "U" rated places that are absolutey my favourites post-6.00pm.

1.) Hartamas Square

After an eventful and a very exhausting week, I've decided to visit Hartamas Square with K.

Hartamas Square is definitely one of my favourite hangout place, especially during football season and when Manchester United is playing.

Nonetheless, visiting the Square isn't quite my weekly ritual.

It all depends on my wallet's capacity.

Because of the happening-ness, Hartamas Square is not the place for the faint-hearted. For example, one can of  Vanilla Coke will cost you RM3.00 each. Depending on the definition of what RM3.00 will get you, you can either it is overly-priced, or rightfully priced.

After all, if you're in Hartamas Square for the Vanilla Cokes, TESCO would suit you a lot better.

And for fellow shisha lovers, our favourite flavour will cost us RM13.00, which is higher than most places.

Nonetheless, with the high-end visitors at the Square, I don't really think that money is really a problem.

That makes the area a haven for small businesses and stalls.

2.) The Classic - Pasar Malam aka Night Market

The name is self-explanatory, and if you have never set foot to one before, there's something wrong with you.

Write your names down to be submitted to the Home Ministry for disobedience towards the unwritten Malaysian constitution; visit a pasar malam!

Pasar malam carries our pride; the Malaysian cuisine! Served hot and fresh. Of course, there are many other things sold at pasar malam nationwide, but for our own safety, we dare not snap away at the pasar malam.

The hawkers have very little tolerance towards locals with cameras. Kinda reminds me of Petaling Street. That is a story for another day. For as much as I love pasar malam (due to the close proximity with my house), I do get constantly frustrated with one particular 'it' when it comes to the hawkers;

They never have small change! Okay maybe they do, but come too early (about 6.30pm), you might walk away empty-handed since no one, no one has change for a 50!

So the moral of the story, come after 7.30pm, or bring small/exact change!

What's your hangout place?
