The BIG Card

October 13 19:15 2011 Print This Article

It seems that Tune Money and Air Asia have join forces to launch the BIG Card.

The big card is very interesting indeed. It is replacing the Tune Cards, which means if you currently have a Tune Card, you will need to exchange the card before the end of the year. You will get an email to clarify this, so don’t worry. Anyway,if previously with the Tune Card, the redemption items kindda sucks, with the BIG Card, you earn biggies (points) to be exchanged with many items as well as Air Asia flight tickets, which is awesome! No need for me to buy Airasia tickets, just spend with the BIG Card and exchange the biggies for Airasia tickets.

For those who have points in their old Tune Card, the points will be converted to Biggies, although I’m not quite sure if they will directly convert or if there is a conversion ratio. I’m still in the process of application.

The good thing is you know about the charges. that is the important part of being a good consumer. Makes it easier to plan the ways of using the card.

For me I use the card only for paying bills and doing online transactions. I only top up when i need to use it and I top up only the amount I need and since there is no fee for top up with CIMB clicks, its great! About ATM withdrawal fee, RM6 is reasonable. Actually I think the only reason you want to do ATM withdrawal is in an emergency when you really need to withdraw from the card because you dont have money in your bank account for some reasons. I’m usually careful not to over top up the card because it costs money to withdraw from the card. even if I over topup, I will use the remaining money on the card to fill up petrol.

the thing is, every card has its flaws and strengths. you just have to know how to use them to your advantage. If the flaws are unacceptable to you, its better for you no to take the card.
