Rumour has it that facebook is shutting down its services on the 15th of March 2011.
Messages have been passed from one user to anther where Zuckerberg allegedly saying “facebook has gotten out of control and the stress of managing this company has ruined my life. I have to stop all the madness. ”
”I personally do not think it’s a great thing,” he reportedly said in a private telephone interview. ”And to be honest, I think this is for the better.”
“Without facebook, people have to go out and make real friends.”
“That’s always a good thing.”
This has lead many to believe that it is actually true.
But what’s wrong here?
Yup, you guessed it.
Where are the big news agencies (CNN, BBC, CNBC, Bloomberg or Al-Jazeera) and why have they not reported about this supposedly breaking news?
Well, of course because it’s not true!
I mean, think about it. Why would a 50 Billion dollar company suddenly stop its operations? Even if Zuckerberg was tired and didn’t want to handle facebook anymore, wouldn’t it be more wise to sell the company?
I guess there is no way this rumour to be true, just like the “hotmail will be closed down” rumor a few years ago.
So, to those who forwarded the messages, please check your sources before forwarding rumours….

Well I saw the news 2 days back from a website. It’s NOT shutting down on 15 March. Someone is trying to get free traffic to their site by spreading this rumor.
